FSX Adrenaline Expansion Pack

The ACES team has been busy working away on the next two updates for “Flight Simulator X”, Service Pack 1 and the DirectX 10 update, but we also wanted tell you about something even bigger that’s coming soon. This fall, we’re releasing our first expansion pack in years: “Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline”! This latest addition to the award-winning “Flight Simulator” franchise will introduce new features, including multiplayer air racing, new missions, and all-new aircraft, including the legendary P-51 Mustang. Building on the rich visuals and amazing realism of our platform, ”Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline” will be available this holiday season for "Flight Simulator X" customers running either Windows XP or Windows Vista. In addition, as a Games for Windows title, “Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline” will include support for key Windows Vista features such as the Game Explorer and Parental Controls. For those customers with compatible hardware, “Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline” will take advantage of Windows Vista and DirectX 10 to deliver breathtaking graphics and dynamic environments for an even more immersive experience. In the meantime, Service Pack 1 for “Flight Simulator X” is tentatively scheduled for an April release and will include a targeted set of performance and content enhancements to address the most common customer requests. In addition, work continues on the DirectX 10 visual update for “Flight Simulator X”, which will be available as a free download around the launch of “Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline”. Austrian Soaring - Day 3
Description: Day 3 in the Austrian Soaring competition, with the wind still blowing from the North-East. The task set for the day is a 172 km quadrilateral from Zell am See airfield in Austria, involving both ridge and thermal soaring in the DG808S. 50 competitor gliders are simulated on the same course.

Austrian Soaring - Day 2
Description: Soar the DG808S around a 220 km flat triangle from Zell am See airfield in Austria, the same setting as the stock FSX soaring mission. The course takes you along the valley 70 km to the West of LOWZ before returning past the airfield another 35 km to the East, and then home. Much of the task is a ridge run, with the wind 16 knots from the North-east giving good ridge lift on the south side of the valley.I've completed the task in 1 hour 13 minutes so try to beat that.

Moving to a new Web Server

The new web server is finally setup and it's ready for migration. I will begin the process this evening and everything should be moved over within a day or so. If the site is goes down, don't panic, it's only temporary.

Many users have requested full screen version of the video guides, however, due to the large file size this has not been possible because of bandwidth costs. I'm making the videos available to those who are willing to donate a fee to download the full screen videos in 1024x768 AVI format. Description: Based on Ernest Gann's book, "Fate is the Hunter", this is the first of a four part mission covering Gann's flight across the Andes in 1940 in a Lockheed Lodstar (actually uses the FSX DC-3). The mission gives the user three choices of routes from Arequipa to La Paz.

Boston Skyscraper Fire
Description: A single-engine aircraft has apparently crashed into a skyscraper in downtown Boston. The resulting fire is threatening a Boston-area landmark – the Prudential Center. A US Air Force Blackhawk helicopter, dispatched from nearby Hanscom Air Force Base, has joined elements of the Boston Fire Department and other rescuers attempting to locate and rescue any survivors. Assist them by locating any survivors who might need evacuation to area hospitals. Then, if you're up to it, help them put out the fire!
